Deep in the woods, surrounded by trees, two children and their Grandad set off on a whimsical search for the mysterious Galloping Frog.
Inspired by a family tale, The Galloping Frog is a heartwarming story about imagination, curiosity and the magic of storytelling passed down through generations.
Perfect for children aged 3–8, this rhyming adventure will have little readers listening for the “da dum, da dum, da dum” of the frog that gallops through the woods.
Cerys Thompson was inspired to write The Galloping Frog by her late Grandad, who often told stories of a mysterious frog that galloped through the woods.
As children, Cerys and her brother would ask about the Galloping Frog for years - but never discovered who he really was!
Originally from the UK, Cerys moved to Cochrane, Alberta in 2023 and published The Galloping Frog in August 2025. She celebrated her book’s launch with a special reading at Found Bookstore and continues to share her story through local events, school visits and community readings.
When she’s not writing, you’ll find Cerys exploring the outdoors with her dogs, dreaming up new adventures, and helping local businesses tell their own stories through her business, CT Communications.
